Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Global Missions

At Darrow Road we believe that we can best accomplish what Jesus is commanding by supporting the work of these missionaries through Global Partners, the mission arm of the Wesleyan Church.

Jesse Van Horn grew up in our congregation. While in college his heart felt the calling to mission work and he is currently serving in Zambia, Africa at the Zimba Mission Hospital.

Andrea Swartout grew up in a small town in Iowa in a Wesleyan pastor’s family. Early on, she felt called to minister to the people of Japan and after earning a degree in intercultural ministries and a M.A. in biblical studies from Asbury Theological Seminary she pursued her goal. She is currently serving in Japan assisting the Japanese church in their vision to become a dynamic influence and a thriving witness to Christ.

He works alongside local pastors offering leadership training with the goal of establishing an organized district of the Wesleyan church in Nicaragua. Amy has been able to use her nursing skills to teach basic health education to women in rural communities of Nicaragua while leading women into a deeper knowledge of God and His Word. Mike and Amy have three children.

Phil and Lucille Nettleton began their international ministry in 1982 after Phil had been a pastor in the states for 16 years. In 204 Phil and Lucille accepted appointment as pastors to missionaries with Global Partners. They moved to the Czech Republic in 2005 and serve the Global Partners missionaries who are serving in Europe, Africa, and the Turkic/Arabic Muslim area. Lucille works alongside her husband in a pastoral role to women. The Nettletons have three grown sons.

In addition, Darrow Road Wesleyan Church supports Helen Ramel, a stateside missionary with WEC International. WEC International focuses on reaching the unchurched and telling them the good news of Jesus Christ. Helen is currently serving in Pennsylvania.

Chris and Kathy Javner served in Senagal, West Africa for 4 years from 2001-2005. Wisconsin District

Members of Darrow Road are also encouraged to use their skills in the partnership the Wisconsin District of the Wesleyan Church has with the church of Nicaragua.  At least twice a year, teams from the Wisconsin district travel, helping with medical missions, leadership training or construction teams, while sharing the gospel with area residents. The next Wisconsin District team will be traveling to Nicaragua in February of 2011.

Local Mission

Darrow Road Wesleyan Church is active in Local ministries. Each December a team will ring bells to raise funds for Salvation Army. We also contribute to the food shelf, and monthly support the local SAMaritan fund which provides assistance to those in need. Our knitters and quilters provide items to hospitals and support to those who have suffered loss through fire. Our children are encouraged to bring their friends to Faithweavers, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School where they can learn about the love of Christ. Members of Darrow Road Wesleyan Church are ready to serve and search out community needs.
