December 30 – Matthew 3:1-12                                                                                                                    

  1. Is salvation only possible for a select few or is it possible for everyone to be saved?
  2. What makes repentance and confession so hard?
  3. What is the Kingdom of heaven and what makes it near?

December 31 – Matthew 4:12-17

  1. Can one receive the Kingdom of God without repentance?
  2. Is repentance different than an apology?
  3. What is the great light that this passage refers to?

January 1 – Matthew 11:7-15

  1. When we go and seek something, is it so we can check something off of our list, gawk at                       what we see, or experience life change?
  2. How do humility and greatness go together?

January 2 – Matthew 13:1-23

  1. What are some of the things that make us calloused and unable to hear from God?
  2. How do we keep things fertile so when we hear from God those things can grow and take                     root?

January 3 – Matthew 13:24-30; 36-43

  1. Is the definition of ‘great value’ based on what we are willing to give up to gain said thing?
  2. Do we set the definition for what is valuable, or do we let God?
  3. Do we want to be judge, jury and executioner and why is that not what we are called to do?

January 4 – Matthew 13: 31-35

  1. How often do we take God’s word and let it grow in our lives through the power of the Holy Spirit?
  2. How often do we struggle with our faith because we are wanting to do something great or looking for the profound and not putting into practice what we know?

January 5 – Matthew 13:44-52

  1. Why is it God’s job or role to separate the fish or the weeds from the grain?
  2. Are we living our life in accordance with the way of the kingdom of God or the kingdom of ourselves?
