What is the significance of the phrase “Lord of Host?”

How often do we feel that we are getting nowhere fast?

If our thoughts, actions, and speech get us into the predicaments in which we find ourselves;   shouldn’t we examine them more often and more closely?

Is the unexamined life really worth living?

January 1 – Haggai 1:12-15

What is the significance of God being with us?

Is work really a spiritual discipline?

Does how we work show what we value and who we work for?

What good is the Spirit of God moving if we are not willing to respond correctly to it?

If everything is God’s, why do we try and take ownership of it instead of being good                          stewards of it?

What does it mean not to fear and why do we fear so easily?

Can we really lose Gods presence for continuous disobedience?

January 3 – Ezra 3:7-13

Do our expectations fail to meet up with the realities of life?

How often do we live in the past because things were better and simpler back then?

Do we ever celebrate the accomplishments of moving forward in our life, no matter how small  the achievement?

Do we ever take God’s love and endurance for granted?

January 4 – Ezra 4:6-24

Does opposition always mean that we are wrong?

How do we deal with opposition, especially when we are going God’s will?

January 5 – Nehemiah 1:1-11

How does lamenting take a proper view of the situation and how does it assess the   implications in the turmoil?

     What does it mean to fear God?

How does this chapter lay out the concept of good and bad consequences?

January 6 – Nehemiah 2:1-10

Do we ever have grief for the condition that we are in?

How does God provide boldness?

Why do we try to get out of certain situations when we could be there for a specific reason?
