December 9 – Isaiah 53:1-15

  1. If we know what the consequences of our sin and disobedience are, why do we still embrace wrong attitudes and actions?
  2. What makes Jesus unique and able to take the punishment for our sin?
  3. If Jesus were to show up today, would we recognize Him?
  4. Are we willing to follow the example of Jesus and serve, knowing the difficulties we will face and that we will get no earthly recognition?

December 10 – Psalm 22:1-31

  1. How does remembering Gods faithfulness in the past help us in our present struggles?
  2. Do we live as we/others see or define us, or how God sees and defines us?
  3. When faced with life struggles, do we pull ourselves up by our boot straps, wallow in self-pity, or seek God’s face?
  4. What is the difference between the adversity we face when following God and the adversity we face because of our stupid decisions and comments?

December 11 – Luke 18:31-34

  1. Does our lack of understanding God ever prevent us from following God?
  2. Is the cross something gone horribly wrong, or the fulfillment of God’s promise?

December 12 – John 13:1-17

  1. Are we willing to serve people, even our enemies?
  2. What is the point of knowing something, if we do not act on what we know?
  3. How many of us may look the part of having it all together and following Jesus, but in all reality we are just going through the motions?
  4. How often do we serve so we can get something out of it?

December 13 – Matthew 20:21-28

  1. How does serving others cost us something?
  2. Why do we expect to be placed in places of great honor?
  3. Do true greatness and humility go hand in hand?

December 14 – Jeremiah 23:1-8

  1. Is there a connection between being faithful and the remnant?
  2. How does the coming of Jesus make things right?

December 15 – Hebrews 9:11-28

  1. How is Jesus’ sacrifice good once and for all?
  2. What is a covenant?
  3. Why did a covenant in the Old Testament require blood and a sacrifice?
