July 29- Galatians 5:13-26

  1. If we struggle with a particular sin, does this mean that one of the fruits of the spirit is not developed as it needs to be?
  2. Do we use our freedom to serve others or for self-promotion and to do whatever we want?
  3. Are we living life based on our own whims and desires, or the leading of God and who He has called us to be?
  4. If we live in the flesh, how does this make us a ‘dead man walking’?

July 30- 1 Peter 4:1-2

  1. Are we more inclined to serve ourselves or serve God?
  2. What is the difference between suffering for Jesus and suffering because of our own sin?
  3. What does it mean to be in the flesh?
  4. Will we ever be free from sin/willful disobedience in this life?

July 31- 1 Peter 4:3-4

  1. If we are created in the image of God, does this mean we have to give in to every temptation that comes our way?
  2. What are those things that seem or feel right that we want to do, but really have no part of the Christian life?
  3. Are we willing to be mocked for not living as people who are enslaved to sin?

August 1- 1 Peter 4:5-6

  1. If we are to give an account of all of our actions, how should we live our lives differently?
  2. What does it mean to live in the Spirit?

August 2- 1 Peter 4:7

  1. In a culture of extremes and over the top antics, what does it mean to be self-controlled?
  2. Does being sober minded also imply that we use the brain that God gave us to think things through?
  3. Knowing that Christ is returning, are we being productive citizens of God’s Kingdom until He returns?

August 3- 1 Peter 4:8

  1. Does true love avoid things or deal with them in a healthy manner?
  2. What makes it so hard to love others?
  3. If we only love those who love us, are we any different than the world?

August 4- 4:9-11

  1. Do we use our gifts to glorify ourselves or to point people to God?
  2. How does hospitality challenge us to love abundantly and to put away cheap grace?
  3. Why does relying on ourselves always lead to disaster?
